from what I see, no. Microsoft security essentials has scanned this. Microsoft will not lie to you. I have had this on my computer for a while for the time I had it, it worked very well, and I didn't notice any "virus like symptoms" on my computer. I personally would say it is safe, but if you start noticing wired things, get rid of it!
