Bank 1 is the same side as cylinder 1
Sensor one is always before the catalytic converter.
On a 1997 Ford Ranger ( 4.0 liter V6 engine ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 1 ( which is the upstream sensor ) would be close to the engine ( it might even be in the outlet of the exhaust manifold ) before the exhaust enters the catalytic converter
Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the upstream. Its on The Header where they all meet. it may not bwe the problem though seeing as i have the same code and just changed my o2 sensor and the code came back. The O2 sensors that are the closest to the engine will be the up stream ones. The ones that are further away from the engine are the down stream sensors.
It has both an up and a down stream oxygen sensor.
2004 vw beetle up stream o2 sensor location
The oxygen sensor's are heated. so I guess that's where you are comming up with the word heated. Bank means- what side of the engine that the oxygen sensor is on. Bank 1 or bank 2
there should be 2, 1 up-stream from the catalytic convertor and 1 down-stream on the ehaust manifold
Assuming this is a 3.0 engine, bank 2 would be the three cylinders up front (2,4,6). Bank 1 would be the three cylinders in back (1,3,5). So bank 2 sensor 1 is the O2 sensor right up front that you can see easily.
Bank 1 driver side sensor 2 rear sensor. Good luck
the bank 1 sensor one is located up steream on the exhaust manifold eo next to the engine
bank one is where the number one cylinder is sensor two is after the cat sensor one is before the cat Follow up question Would it be considered H02S2-B1 ? Indicationg bank 1 sensor 2? ho2s2 is sensor two after the cat of bank one if this is the v6 motor its the side next to the fire wall
Bank 1 is the drivers side head. #1 sensor will be screewed into the exhaust pipe up close to the head. #2 sensor is further down towards the muffler. I'm sure it has 4 sensors. 2 on bank 1 and 2 on bank 2
