∙ 14y agoBeing Gay and Lesbian cannot result in offspring, so no it isn't. The fact that they don't die out backs up the common view that it is a mental condition influenced only by biological and social factors.
Of course being gay or lesbian is hereditary. The "common view that it is a mental condition" is a defensive reaction against the simple fact that heterosexuals are producing homosexual offspring. Since gays and lesbians cannot, ordinarily, result in offspring, where do they come from?
The answer is simple. They come from variances in heterosexual genetics. No big deal, unless one wants it to be, or is afraid of what the neighbors will think.
