Yes, it was cancelled right in the middle of a cliff hanger. Because they had to just cancel it quick it was a bad ending where sam never gets home.

i hope!!!!! well... it continues online but I'm not sure if it'll become an anime I REALLY WANT IT TO!!!!!!!!! i have a slight feeling the anime will not continue because soul eater is just not popular enough to continue, the author (atsushie) probably knows not many people watch it so it would pretty much be a waste of time for him if it's not even gonna be watched but it should continue because there is some people like me who just love the anime soul eater so much!!!!!! that's why if you look up this question and see this answer and you agree with me that soul eater should be more popular so it could most likely continue, then tell people about it, get more people to like it so it can at least get as popular as bleach or even reach naruto (which by the way sucks --- no affense to naruto fans lol)

The anime wasn't canceled, they just don't continue the anime as long as the manga. Most of the times in ends differently and the storyline is quite different. So, it wasn't canceled, it ended.

Well, I don't think that there will form any couples in the actual manga or anime. Bleach is no romance comedy but an action anime. Just think about it, I'm sure you favor some couples, you'd probably be very disappointet if one of the two would get together with someone else.
