I found a an article on bonded leather in a emag called Furniture Today but nothing that answers this question specifically.
Bonded leather is an economical material but does not stand up to flexing therefore it is a poor substitute and would not make it durable at all for furniture. It can be used for tabletops or picture frames where flexing is not an issue.
I started looking around after I visited Rooms To Go and the sales rep failed to highlight that this is not genuine leather. I found out by accident on their website which simply states it is Bonded Leather (up to us to educate ourselves I guess). The sales guy had explained to us that it is leather spliced and supported on the underside and even tried to sell us leather protection. This is W.R.O.N.G. it tells me that the retailer is not being truthful by not disclosing the facts about the product.
The product is barely over 2 years old going by the article in Furniture today and there is little evidence of it being tested for durability. So if you're buying this product you are field testing it for the stores I guess!
Bonded leather is perfect for everyday use and high traffic areas. It cleans extremely well with a damp cloth and pet hair is easily wiped away. It is extremely durable and withstands scratches and scuffs. An excellent choice for pet lovers and those with kids!
0%. If it is bonded leather it is bonded leather and not plastic!
Leather is usually the most durable, but if you get cheap leather and/or don't care for it properly, it won't last. High-quality fabric cared for properly would last better than poorly maintained, cheap leather.
Leather is the most durable material for a hat. It is thick and last a long time.
Leather is more durable as long as it is quality leather.
yes
Bonded leather is basically scrap leather and other materials (could be vinyl, split hides, textiles and who knows what) combined and manufactured with chemicals to produce bonded leather. Top grain leather, which is the most popular leather available today, at a relatively low cost and just a bit more than bonded leather, will hold up better, give a nicer touch, and outlast bonded leather.
Yes, durablend leather is the same thing as bonded leather. These types of leather are glued together to make one large piece of leather.
Only if you get hit with it. Bonded leather is just a product made from leather and other materials to look like leather but at a cheaper cost
I think it is used leather unlike bonded leather.
it is usually durable depending on the thickness
Because bonded leather is made from ground up leather fibers it can be made out of varying amounts of "real leather", but in almost every case bonded leather consists of only 10-17% leather. This makes up a leather backing upon which a vinyl top coating is applied.
