usually the maximum voltage to the Bread -Board is given is 15-20 volts

so placing different resistances on bread -board you will have different current ,this proved that bread board is current limited. Also if we ever apply 220 volts to bread board i think it will burn out

ANSWER: There are limitation to the breadboard and it is not only voltage but current also. 15 volts across a 1.5 ohms is 10 amps get the idea
