CalcStar is a spreadsheet application for CP/M by MicroPro. It was available separately or bundled in an office suite together with WordStar, MailMerge, DataStar and ReportStar. Due to limited internal computer memory it wasn't as feature-rich as today's spreadsheets. Cells can contain text, numbers and expressions composed of numbers, cell references, arithmetic and relational operators and functions max, min, sum, cnt, avg, sqrt, log, exp, ln, abs, regr, proj, depd, slope and a conditional statement. From the version 1.2 manual (1982): "The worksheet limits are 127 cells left-to-right (columns) and 255 cells top-to-bottom (rows). The actual amount of data that can be stored depends on the random access memory size in your computer. Up to 481 cells are available in a system with a 64k (bytes) memory." The manual contains an addendum for version 1.4 in which the number of cells has increased to 5000 by not using a fixed amount of memory for each cell.
