Best Answer

A complete flower has all four parts: sepal, petals, stamen (male) and pistil (female).

A perfect flower just has the male and female parts.

The carnation is a complete flower.

  • The 4 sepals (calyx) protect the bud.
  • Petals in groups of 5 form the corolla and protect the reproductive parts.
  • Stamens (5) consist of a filament topped by an anther that produces pollen.
  • Gynoecium in the center has at least 1 carpel fused into 1 pistil the top of which is a stigma and the base has an egg-containing ovary.
