'Caustic' means capable of burning or corroding by chemical action. It's the stuff you get in paint stripper, drain cleaners and is used in making soap. It gives off an incredible amount of heat if you add it to water.
If you're using this for a chemical experiment then that's another mattter, but the caustic soda should be handled with great care. Be supervised by an adult if you're under age. Wear protective clothing - long sleeves, rubber gloves, eye protection. Read the instructions and use small amounts. Have plenty of cold water handy so you can wash off any splashes immediately - it can burn right through your skin.
