Depends on how much you have, and what you have it with. A soup plate, filled to the brim, with full-fat milk/youghurt, won't be a small meal. A dessert bowl, with low-fat milk/yoghurt, can be a small meal.
Grits (as it's known in the south), is made from coarse corn meal. Polentina is another cooked cereal made from corn meal (similar to polenta, but with more liquid added). Cooked cereal would also include other cooked grains: Oatmeal, and wheat-based cereals like Farina, Cream of Wheat, and Malt-O-Meal. Other coarsely-ground grains can be used as breakfast cereals, cooked until tender. These are called by various names in different cultures.

A healthy meal should be balanced. It should have carbohydrate, so starchy foods like pasta, bread, cereal, even fruit has carbohydrate, but have something starchy as well! It should have protein, so fish and cheese and pulses, like lentils and nuts and beans. It should have dairy, so milk and yoghurt etc. It should have fruit and veg as obviously, and also a small bit of fat/sugar is not a bad idea!
The word "cereal" actually refers to grains, which are considered a type of grassy plant. Cereals such as rice, corn (maize) and wheat are by themselves not junk foods, but they are often made junky by being processed with sugar and other superfluous ingredients. All you can do is either prepare your own meal with whole grains, or check the label when purchasing cereal products. The less additives, the less junky it is.
