Challenging is a physical security measure that is appropriate in certain situations. Places challenging people for security measures is appropriate are prisons and military sites.

Is challenging people a form of physical security measure?
Yes - challenging people is a form of physical access control, hence it is a physical security measure. The challenged person must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the the guard (or person presenting the challenge) that they are authorized to enter the restricted area where the computer resources are located. They may be required to present a physical token such as a picture ID, biometric input such as a fingerprint, and /or a pass-phrase of the day (or any number of other authenticators).

No. Physical security measures refer to actual, physical barriers to prevent people from accessing a system or using it in a certain way. An example of a physical security measure would be using locks to prevent theft of computers, or keeping critically important computers in a separate place where they are not likely to be damaged or interfered with.

For the first 6-7 months, anything she wants to do. After that, there are only moderate restrictions on physical activity. She probably shouldn't sky-dive or race horses, for example, and marathons would be quite challenging. (Of course, marathons are quite challenging for most people all the time, anyway...) Most office jobs don't have any physical restrictions; she could do those up until the time she goes into labor.
