No. This animal is not a dog.It is a small South American rodent (genus Chinchilla, family Chinchillidae) long valued for its extremely fine-textured fur.
a dog can get along well with a chinchilla as long as its alright with small animals/ rodents. I Warn you do NOT leave a dog and chinchilla unsupervised same with cats. all though some people train their dogs not to hurt chinchillas no matter how much effort you put into that the dog may still attack. i almost lost my chinchilla this way, as chinchillas like to be boss they like to jump and taunt the dog. anyway I would recommend it but NEVER leave them on their own. Thx for lisening Lauren
