Class 8 materials are corrosive materials. Some will corrode skin and are therefore considered to be toxic materials. Some Class 8 will corrode steel or aluminum, but not skin. Those are not toxic materials.

A thing (area, lake, stream, land, person) becomes contaminated when a toxic material is present in it. To De-contaminate the thing is to remove the toxic material
i would say lead but good luck lining your walls with that it is toxic. It IS the best soundproofing material known except for "Aerogel". It is only toxic if ingested.
