Not really each time you play one they will know your IP Address.You use them at your own risk, never enter your main runescape account and password on a private server, not even if they ask you for it!

My suggestion: DON'T PLAY THE FAKE.Even though there are almost thousands of private servers its not safe dont be fooled by the person above, its your personal choice but to be honest private servers are too easy with MANY bugs. It is ILLEGAL but this type of thing is too hard to enforce. Many private servers also claim to be a 'JaGex produced' game, and in doing so they say "Feel free to use your same account that you use on Runescape II." You type in your password on a private server and you've lost that account.
