Best Answer

Runescape private servers may or may not be safe. Malicious code can easily be attached to the client. The only safe Runescape client is the official game client supported by Jagex.

Not really each time you play one they will know your IP Address. You use them at your own risk, never enter your main runescape account and password on a private server, not even if they ask you for it!

Is club penguin rewritten safe?

Club Penguin Rewritten, better known as CPR, is the safer end of the spectrum for CP private servers. There has been much controversy with other private servers, but Rewritten seems to be okay with security and safety.

Whats runescape but isn't actually runescape?

The only thing that is runescape but isn't would be a private sever, such as moparscapeEdit by Engl1sh: Games other than Runescape that are based off of Runescape's code are actually ILLEGAL, and JaGex is in the process of finding (and suing) those companies that feel it's okay to steal code and the game itself. ALSO, many games that are based off of Runescape (private servers) have the ability to find your ip address, and can sometimes put viscious malware, spyware, or any other form of virus onto your computer without your consent. Unfortunately, many do not realize how easy it is for private server owners to just code in a bug/glitch to plant harmful stuff on your computer via their private server homepage. You risk a lot just by looking at sites that offer "private servers". My suggestion: DON'T PLAY THE FAKE.Even though there are almost thousands of private servers its not safe dont be fooled by the person above, its your personal choice but to be honest private servers are too easy with MANY bugs. It is ILLEGAL but this type of thing is too hard to enforce. RE:Edit by Engl1sh: Actually everything I said is accurate, as in moparscape when you attempt to log on, in order to do so you use your i.p. address to actually start up the game. Many private servers also claim to be a 'JaGex produced' game, and in doing so they say "Feel free to use your same account that you use on Runescape II." You type in your password on a private server and you've lost that account. As well as 'buggy and glitchy', many private servers can IN FACT begin automatic downloads of harmful software/ viruses, especially if your security settings are low or innactive.RE:RE:Edit by Engl1sh: Someone deleted all of the previous information. In the future please do not delete answers and put a single-word answer, instead leave your answer in the same form as I have done, and allow the poster of the question to decide what to do with all of the information given.

Can you get a virus from RuneScape?

RuneScape doesn't give you any viruses; but it does install cache memory onto your computer to make it (RuneScape) run faster. This may slow down your computer's overall performance, since it takes up RAM and space. It is a browser based game and to get a virus you need to download the particular file, and you do not need to download anything for runescape (unless it's Java which you need to play it).Though you can download runescape client (optional have to do it manually) someone could put a virus on that other then that not possible. EDIT: to answer the question straight forward: no. I've checked with norton safe websites and its fine. no viruses, nothing. There are no viruses on Runescape. I have played for 5-6 years and i have gotten nothing. only viruses you can get is if you try to cheat by downloading an auto client or something. and something else you can consider a virus is being addicted to runescape :) and makeing runescape your life.
