Yes it is. Mostly used after surgery to prevent clots and UTI's
As with any surgical procedure, blood pressure and pulse will be monitored. Urine is expected to be blood-tinged in the early postoperative period. Continuous bladder irrigation (rinsing) may be used for approximately 24 hours after surgery.
if the question is dealing with exccessive urination it could be caused by an enlarged prostate it could also be the bodies way of releiving itself of exxess fluid possibly from high blood pressure the body gets rid of waste products through the urinary system such as excess sodium, potassium and other by products the body can't use 2/18/2008 Continuous bladder irrigation is also used following a medical procedure to the urinary system. I have seen it used most frequently with prostatectomies. The prostate is extremely vascular and bleeds excessively following removal or reduction. A special foley catheter is inserted into the urethra with a Y type adapter to allow fluids to go both in and out. Large bags of normal saline are used to continually flush the bladder. It is very common for the normal saline to come back out as bright red blood at first. Eventually, the normal saline will run clear and the irrigation can be discontinued soon after. I have not seen many complications but as with any procedure there is a risk of infection. A rupture would also be possible if the output port was clogged and fluid continued to run in. Electrolyte imbalances would be possible as well. This is an impatient procedure so just being in the hospital has its own set of risks.
CBI in nursing and midcal terms means "continuous bladder irrigation". A practice used after some surgeries or procedures to flush the bladder 'continuously' with usually sterile water. It has a number of purposes but for one, it helps ensure there is no accumualtion of substances that may increase bacterial load and induce infection.
Cystoclysis is a continuous movement of the bladder with solution prescribed by the surgeon. Cystoclysis' purpose is to wash the bladder out and help in the process of removing blood clots after prostatic surgery.
The medical term for a triple lumen catheter used post-transurethral resection of the prostate is a three-way catheter. This type of catheter is used to help with bladder irrigation, drainage, and instillation of medication following the procedure.
Drip irrigation is a type of irrigation used in the Murray River. Drip irrigation is a continuous tube with evenly spaced emitters that 'drip' water. Drip irrigation is used on the surface, often hung from trellis, or below the surface. Drip irrigation, especially subsurface, is a water efficient approach to irrigation and so is favoured along the Murray River as the area is in extreme drought. There is a new type of extremely water efficient irrigation that is starting to be used throughout the Murray river area, because it uses far less water than any other irrigation system. The KISSS Subsurface Textile Irrigation system is increasingly used in sports fields, crops and backyards due to it's water efficiency.
irrigation was used for watering crops and was occasionally used for drinking.
Irrigation is the prime method used.
Fresh water is used for irrigation in Egypt.
canal irrigation
yes, the Huns used an irrigation system to get water.
I think the Inka tribe used irrigation.
