Copper (II) oxide, CuO is a compound containing a metal - copper, and a non-metal - oxygen. It is therefore has ionic bonding.
Remember:
Metal - non-metal = ionic bonding
Non-metal - non-metal = covalent bonding
Metal - metal = metallic bonding
The bonding is better described as ionic, consisting of Cu2+ and OH- ions. It is a difficult compound, usually formed as a light blue wet precipitate, it decomposes before it melts and wet samples absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Ionic
CuO which is Copper(II) Oxide so... Cu(OH)2 + heat -----> CuO
Copper II Sulphate is an Covalent bonding because the charge is (+)ve
The formula is Cu(OH)2 meaning that there are 2 oxygens and 2 hydrogens, not just 2 hydrogens. The compound is called Copper (II) Hydroxide.
i believe its copper (II) hydroxide
yesss :)
CuO which is Copper(II) Oxide so... Cu(OH)2 + heat -----> CuO
the chemical formula for copper II hydroxide is Cu(OH)2, so the elements are copper, oxygen and hydrogen.
Copper II Sulphate is an Covalent bonding because the charge is (+)ve
Metallic copper does not react with sodium hydroxide. But if sodium hydroxide is added into a solution of copper ions, it would form Copper(II) Hydroxide. It is a precipitate which is insoluble in water.
i believe its copper (II) hydroxide
yesss :)
The formula is Cu(OH)2 meaning that there are 2 oxygens and 2 hydrogens, not just 2 hydrogens. The compound is called Copper (II) Hydroxide.
Solutions of copper (II) compounds will undergo precipitation reactions with sodium hydroxide solution when mixed together to produce a bright blue precipitate of copper (II) hydroxide and a solution of a sodium salt. The chemical equations for the reaction between Copper (II) nitrate and Sodium hydroxide are as follows:Cu(NO3)2 (aq) + 2NaOH (aq) → Cu(OH)2 (s) + 2NaNO3 (aq)Copper II nitrate + sodium hydroxide → copper II hydroxide + sodium nitrate
Copper(II) hydroxide and sodium nitrate are thermally decomposed to oxides by heating.
The answer is compound!
Copper(II) hydroxide can be called also cupric hydroxide. The first is the recommended IUPAC name.
Copper bromide is an ionic compound.
