Meats are kept better in the freezer. Meats can be kept in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days if raw and 1 to 2 days longer if cooked. Always place cooked meats in an airtight container.

Generally, jerked meat like deer sticks do not need to be refrigerated. They are preserved with the chemicals that dry the meat.
I am pretty sure it is called venison when cooked and eaten.
If it is not rotten and is cooked right, it will not affect you.
Venison is wonderful if properly cooked. However if the deer ate a lot of sage, it will not taste as good as deer that ate corn and soybeans.
