What sort of depression do you have? Neither of these drugs should be used for regular depression (Major Depression). In fact, I am of the opinion they shouldn't be used long term for anything, for 2 reasons:

1) They cause permanent changes in the brain and leave you worse off than when you started. A recent study on schizophrenics is a good example. 2 groups were studied, one taking antipsychotics (depakote / seroquel), and the other taking no medication. For the first 3 years the group taking the medication did better, but after 3 years the group not taking anything was better off, and everyone who stopped taking medication was much worse.

2) They cause tardive dyskinesia, a form of permanent brain damage, in many people who take them. This is uncontrollable shaking and jerky movements, similar to Parkinsons Disease, and it never goes away. By the time you realize you have it, it is too late.

Have you tried therapy? Many psychiatrists are far too quick to prescribe when there are other, better alternatives. Medication is easier for the doctor, but not necessarily better for the patient. If you are bipolar and absolutely have to take something, you might want to look into taking lithium.

@Matthewterhune - if you`re an idiot please stop responding and scaring people for nothing moron. And now to go back to the question it is very hard to tell. If you`re bipolar 2 both are used to treat mania symphtoms but Seroquel is better for the depressive state then Depakote. You should wait and see. If you didn`t experience weight gain on Seroquel you won`t experience any one Depakote either. I wish you all the best

What is an electron transition and how does it relate to light?

Transition means switching from one energy level to another; the lost energy turns into photons.

Open Transition Switching in star delta starter?

The transition from star connection to delta connection requires that the current flow through the motor is interrupted. This is termed "Open Transition Switching" and with an induction motor operating at partial speed (or full load speed), there is a large current and torque transient produced at the point of reconnection. This transient is far worse than any produced by the DOL starter and can cause severe damage to equipment and the supply.

What are some symptoms of bipolar depression?

One of the most noticeable symptom of bipolar depression disorder is the switching from extreme hyperactivity to a severely manic depressed state. This can include suicidal thoughts and tendencies during this phase. Another sign or symptom is that there is a pattern many times or a regulated switching between the ups and the downs.

What are the most effective cycling routines?

When cycling it is important to do speeds which are comfortable. You can try switching speeds every 2 minutes.

What is port switching and segment switching?

PORT SWITCHING:- A Machine is directly Connected to the Switch's port..,so that you can run parallel full speed between machines....its an expensive solution since the unit price of switch per port is high!SEGMENT SWITCHING:- A Whole segment is connected to the port of the switch..here you can either connect the workstation directly on the switches port or use segments to connect...Its is more effective switching compared to Port Switching!

What is ZVS quasisquare-wave converter?

ZVS techniques are techniques that force the voltage across a switch to be zero just before it is turned on or off and to keep this voltage zero while a switching transition occurs. All MOSFETs and most IGBTs have anti-parallel diodes that are built into the body of each device that allows current to flow from source to drain in a MOSFET and from emitter to collector in an IGBT. A ZVS turn-on in MOSFETs and IGBTs is therefore done by forcing current through the body-diode of the devices just before they are turned on. This clamps the voltage across the device to a single diode drop (which is a negligible voltage) during a switching transition so that turn-on switching losses are greatly reduced. A ZVS turn-off is achieved by slowing down the rate of voltage rise across a switch when it is turned off by adding some capacitance across the switch; this limits the overlap between voltage and current during the switching transition
