Diabetes is a physical condition
because it is the result of malfunctioning of the pancreas, an organ found in the abdomen that secretes insulin when high glucose levels are present in the blood, insulin is a hormone (chemical messenger) that simulates the liver to turn glucose into glycogen, thus regulating the blood glucose level. The brain is not involved, however abnormal glucose levels, too high or too low, can effect the brain.

Diabetes is when your pancreas stops producing enough insulin and this is caused by the following: Poor Health, Heredity(if you or anyone in your family such as your mother has it, it will heighten your chances of getting it), Poor eating habits, and malnutrition. You cannot get diabetes from a mental illness. Also, if you are a hypochondriac, you might think you have it but remember, you don't unless your doctor tells you that you do. =]
