From my understanding of this concept it is not. Direct instruction is an instructional strategy that could be used in a design model. An instructional design model seems to be an actaully way of creating a curriculum and ideas for how to run a classroom that is created by an individual or group of individuals. For example, backward design which was created by Wiggins and McTighe.
Definitely maybe.
The Hannum and Hansen model in instructional design is a framework that emphasizes the importance of systematic planning and development of educational programs. It focuses on understanding the learner's needs, defining clear instructional goals, and employing a variety of instructional strategies and evaluation methods to enhance learning outcomes. This model promotes the integration of theory and practice, ensuring that instructional materials and activities are aligned with the desired learning objectives. Overall, it aims to create effective and efficient learning experiences.
Deil Spencer Wright is known for writing "The Six Layer Model", which is a methodology used to design effective instruction. Wright is also recognized for his work in the field of educational technology and instructional design.
4C-ID Model is one of the most popular. Some other very popular models are the ARCS, A.S.S.U.R.E. and the Algo-Heuristic Theory. The most popular design model is the earth rotation. This design shows the affect of how the earth rotates with the planets.
Welliver's Instructional Transformation Model emphasizes the integration of technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge to enhance teaching and learning. It advocates for a systematic approach to instructional design that encourages educators to adapt their practices in response to the evolving educational landscape. By focusing on collaborative learning and continuous improvement, the model aims to empower teachers and engage students more effectively. Overall, it seeks to create a more dynamic and responsive educational environment.

Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) is a systematic instructional design model used to create effective learning solutions. It involves gathering information about the learning needs (analysis), planning the learning solution (design), creating the materials (development), putting the solution into action (implementation), and assessing its effectiveness (evaluation). This model helps ensure that the learning objectives are met and that the training or learning program is successful.
Problem-based learning is a learning strategy that incorporates specific instructional preplanned activities, focused on a relevant learner problem, and allows for the flexibility of the situation and the learners in the classroom. This course model has its foundation in the theories of humanistic, learner-centered, and problem-centered design approaches.
The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model is a research-based and validated instructional model that has proven effective in addressing the academic needs of English learners throughout the United States. The SIOP Model consists of eight interrelated components: lesson preparation, building background, comprehensible input, strategies, interaction, practice/application, lesson delivery, and review/assessment.Sheltered instruction means that the students receive help in developing academic English while they are learning grade-level content material.
A teacher can apply Tyler's model by identifying specific learning outcomes, designing a curriculum that aligns with these outcomes, implementing instructional strategies to achieve the outcomes, and assessing student learning based on the desired outcomes. This approach helps to ensure clarity of goals, alignment of instruction, and assessment of student achievement.
