This is a personal decision between you and God. The church suggests that Catholics choose to "give up" something during Lent, and many choose to give us Sodas etc, but no one should give up drinking water. Dehydration is a health risk.

This would be a question you should ask your own spiritual advisor, since we have no idea what religion you are or what they may have to say or not say about Lent.

Can Catholics drink beer on Friday during Lent?

For Roman Catholics drinking during Lent is not actually forbidden The only required fast days are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday and the paticular attension is paid on Fridays when we have to abstain from meat During the weekday days of Lent Monday to Saturday we are required to do some form of extra penance such as giving up certain special foods or activities like giving up pizza or chocolate or fizzy drinks or some activity like computure games or sport Regarding Drinking beer on Friday during Lent because Friday is a day of penance during Lent it would be best to avoid drinking beer on Fridays and transfer it to Saturday nights instead the reason why I say Saturday nights is because in the Catholic Church liturgical day begins at sundown NOT middnight and Sundays during Lent are NOT counted as fast days so it woulld be best to drink beer on a Saturday evening Saturday night at sundown is technically Sunday by the liturgical day so should be fine as Sunday is not counted as a part of Lent I will be drinking myself on that night and that will be the only night during Lent I`ll drink too I usually drink 3 times per week but as its Lent I`ll reduce it to once per week

Meat is not eaten on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays during Lent. Catholics (at least 14 years old) in the United States are obliged to abstain from the eating of meat on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays during the season of Lent. Catholics (from 18 to 60 years old) are also obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and on Good Friday. Self-imposed observance of fasting on all weekdays of Lent is strongly recommended.
