Quite the opposite: southern Mexico and Central America are dominated by the Sierra Madre mountain ranges, which more often than not, have subtropical savanna and tropical rainforests (i.e: quite humid climates).

Central Mexico
Meso-America- A region that includes the southern part of Mexico and much of central America.
Most of the lands that Christopher Columbus reached on his four voyages were in the Caribbean Sea. He also visited the coasts of Mexico and Central America.
Middle America includes the Caribbean and countries between the United States and Colombia (although Colombia and Venezuela are sometimes included). Central America only includes the countries between Mexico and Colombia; Middle America includes Central America along with other countries/regions.
