It is usefull because how would the ball bonce without the being elastic energy in it???
It can be described in several ways, but elastic potential energy is the most useful.
The use ful energy from headphones would be sound , the wasteful would be battery power.
Momentum is conserved in a collision. If two cars have the same mass and are traveling at the same speed and collide headfirst, the momentum of both cars cancel each other out and they will be motionless. If one has greater speed or mass than the other, it will still have the difference in momentum after the collision.
While energy is ALWAYS conserved, this isn't always useful for calculations, since MECHANICAL ENERGY - the energy that can be easily calculated - is NOT always conserved. On the other hand, momentum is always conserved, whether a collision is elastic or inelastic. (In an elastic collision, energy is also conserved.) Thus, conservation of momentum is often more useful for calculations involving collisions.
it is the energy of position and most objects have gravitational potential energy, all they need is a height, and to NOT have a spring/elastic
Friction is a force that must be overcome for no useful purpose. It takes energy to do this, and thus is wasteful.

Energy can never be destroyed or 'ran out of', it can only be changed. E.g this is how energy is used in a torch: the chemical energy in the battery is transferred into light energy (which is useful energy in this instants), and into heat energy (which is wasteful in this instants). I may have said that heat was waisted but it can be used for other things, just not in a torch)! Hope that has answered your question.
by a bio gas Do you know that the US Government specifically the Dept of Defense is partnering with private companies to improve waste to energy projects? Read more about it by clicking the link.
The useful energy that comes out is light energy. Heat energy is also produced but is not useful
