No. Environmentalism is no more than an unsupported hypothesis that says we need to spend more of our incomes to save an 'endangered planet'. Since 1970 we have created several sanctions to reduce air-pollution all over the United States and it has been an overall good thing. After we passed these regulations we saw huge reductions is the levels of carbon-monoxide and lead in the air. Now, as we move forward, the environmentalists are attempting to get us to spend even more money to produce very minuscule results. There is no cost effective way, currently, to make our air cleaner, our rivers clearer, or our landfills disappear.

Anthony Giddens defines the scientific approach as the use of systematic empirical research methods to generate knowledge about the social world. It involves the application of logic, observation, and experimentation to understand patterns in social behavior and phenomena. Giddens emphasizes the importance of using evidence-based methods to develop theories and test hypotheses about social life.
The deductive approach in the scientific method involves making specific predictions based on a general theory or hypothesis, and then testing those predictions through experimentation or observation. This approach helps scientists to confirm or refute hypotheses systematically and logically, leading to a better understanding of the natural world.
When Piggy says that life is scientific, he is emphasizing the importance of reason, logic, and order in understanding the world. He believes that events can be predicted and explained through scientific principles, and that a rational approach is essential for survival and progress.

Behaviorism is the approach to psychology that arose from the belief that the study of the mind and consciousness was not scientific. Behaviorists focused on observable behavior and how it can be influenced by environmental factors through conditioning and reinforcement. Key figures in behaviorism include John B. Watson and B.F. Skinner.
