Here I am presenting you with both the sides of the question:

Favor:

Exploring other planets in general is useful insofar as it adds to human understanding and knowledge of the universe in which we live; whether such explorations will ever discover life on other planets remains to be seen. It would certainly be an interesting discovery, if it does occur.

Humans have developed so much till date. Humans always had a curiosity to know more. That's why today we almost know everything about our planet Earth and now its time to know about the life outside our planet also.

Think there are so many knowledge, so many medicines and other things we have got from just the creatures of our own planet and if we found alien life than we could get a lot of exciting gifts from them.

Against:

Well, all this space explorations started just as a field of competition between USA and USSR. Both the powers used to compete that who can send more missions and named it as the life exploration missions.

Okay lets come to the point; what have we got till now from these missions? ....Nothing.....

There are so many problems on our own planet that we need to resolve. There are millions who sleep with empty tummies and the government is more concerned on exploring lives on other planets and not noticing the fact the what life people on their planet are leading.

If we found some inferior alien life than humans will go there, make them slaves, exploit their resources and make their planet the same as we saw in the movie- Avatar. Now face it, if we found some superior creatures and they come to know about our planet, then they will make us slaves, kill us, exploit our resources and make hell of our lives. Would you like it? .... never, of course!

There are so many interesting things in sky- say Asteroid Mining where we can send missions to asteroids and extract useful minerals from them and even use them as fuel to send a distant mission... But-but-but, this is till now just in theories cause our so called curious people are more concerned on finding alien life; where we are getting NOTHING.

So lets just dump this idea of exploring life on other planets and use our rocket-science brains to do something more important, something where we could get SOMETHING as a gift of all our efforts!

Why is there life on earth but not on anty outher planets?

There is life on other planets. Imagine, there are 1000 planets in the Universe for every grain of sand on the earth. That's how many planets there are, so scientifically, the chance that there must be life on other planets as well is much greater than the chance that there is no life.
