There is a Demo of Eyepet to help you decide. I found the children initially enjoyed playing the Demo. Let them decide if the demo is not enough and also if the prefer the other demos available. Demos and add ons are two additional reasons for the PS3 to have an internet connection. Amazon has the Eyepet for 25.20 and in like new condition for 20.99. There are a number of add ons (12+) for the Eyepet at $2.99 each and a new game Eyepet and friends being released on December 1 2011 at $39.99. Glyde sells the Eyepet in excellent condition for $13.75 and 3.66 S/H and Gamespot only rates it a fair game at 6.5 which they define as:
6.0-6.5: Fair
Games that earn 6-range ratings have certain good qualities but significant problems as well. These games may well be worth playing, but you should approach them with caution.
Vet insurance may be worth buying, however it is generally more expensive to buy insurance if you do not anticipate having an injured pet. However if you love your pet, it may give you peace of mind to get it.

You will get that by buying a love potion in the Market
by buying the pet of the month in the month
The game is only Move Compatible and not Move required like Eye Pet or Sports Champions so a regular controller will also work
The PS3 move will work on all PS3 models and uses the PlayStation eye USB camera which was already available for all PS3 models and the new move controller

Pet stores get their puppies from puppy mills. Buying them keeps the pet stores in business, which keeps the cruelty of puppy mills in business. It is a vicious circle. You would be better off adopting from a shelter or pet rescue society.
