Is fallout new Vegas appropriate for a 12 year old?

I have a 12 year old, he plays it and says that it is very entertaining, I've seen him play, and it is not the slightest bit inappropriate, there are some questionable themes like, going into a bar and people might be holding glasses of Alcoholic Beverages. the graphic content is not bad either, of course, like every other first person shooter there is a little blood. language is nothing to worry about either, maybe the "H" word or the "D" word from time to time, other than that nothing bad. i think a 12 year old would be the appropriate age for this game.
