The words 'English' and 'correct' may not be completely justifiable, but it is a borrowed word that is currently used in English. A word that comes closer to being English would be flatulist. You refer of course to Joseph Pujol, 'Le Petomane', 1857 to 1945, arguably the most famous [only?] fartiste of note. Pujol had such control over the anal sphincter that he could inhale or take air into the rectum and then make a variety of sound effects as he expelled or farted it out. What a claim to fame! He must have been quite a hoot at parties.
