Is fear the opposite of love?

No, the opposite of love is hatred. Opposite of fear is bravery.

I actually believe that fear is the opposite of love. It's hard to believe since the whole love and hatred thing has been put down as a fact almost everywhere. And thus, it's hard to get used to.

*For the record, I'm getting all this from a book called "Conversations with God" and I suggest you read it if you want to really understand where I'm coming from. And don't worry. It's not like The Bible if you're a non-christian.

Love and hate would be considered opposites because hate despises, pushes away, and it angers. However, hate is a manifestation of fear.
