Although both are amazing - They each serve a different main purpose.
While Photoshop is for print (mostly) Fireworks is more of a web image software. If you ask me - they are so similar because Fireworks (originally by Macromedia) was purchased by Photoshop to eliminate them from competition. They were heading toward becoming a real threat to Adobe's foothold as the leader in the photo editing and image-creation field.
Adobe Photoshop is better for editing photos, naturally. Adobe Fireworks is better for graphic design such as logos.
It's a matter of personal opinion. Photoshop is probably used by more professional artists. On the other hand, the Gimp is free.
Macromedia Fireworks
Photoshop Elements is Photoshop but with less features, so Photoshop is better but it is professional level software. For home use or to get started Photoshop Elements is OK.
each to their own, but personally i prefer fireworks to flashes and this is why... if you think about it, a firework flashes, but a flash doesn't firework?
Photoshop is for images. Pictures and stills. After effects is for videos. Effects and post processing. Neigher can be compared.
First off they are much safer and better understood. Other than that they are very similar. ummm. fireworks were used as war weapons for first fireworks. slowly drifting to entertainment and the rockets red glare....
Photoshop CS5 is much better then CS3 if you asking you this question. Why is cheaper or more expensive can answer only Adobe.
Because of the amazing features, It costs so much You could try downloading GIMP it contains no viruses and is free And much better than Photoshop
In Photoshop you can easily go back, change what is drawn, recolor drawing, keep elements on separate layers and hide them, delete at any time ...
You can always use Picasa or Adobe Photoshop Elements to better manage and edit your photos.
PS 7 is one of the older versions of Photoshop, before Adobe's merger with Macromedia. Photoshop CS4 is the current version of Photoshop (soon to be replaced with CS5 this summer). While the two have the same developer and history, CS4 is a much more advanced version of the program. Tasks that required separate programs or plugins (mini-programs that you can buy that run within PS) with PS 7 are now standard in CS4.
