plastic bottles
Yes; PET
They are made from recycled plastic drinks bottles
Yes it can. I believe people or a machine at a factory shred it in to cloth.
In modern clothing, yes and no. The majority of the material is in fact recycled plastics mixed with other synthetic and natural fibers. However your classic wool fleece, is still mostly if not entirely sheep's wool.
Non-recycled fleece is typically made from synthetic fibers, primarily polyester derived from petroleum-based resources. The production process involves converting these materials into fibers, which are then knitted or woven into a soft fabric. Non-recycled fleece often lacks the environmental benefits of recycled fleece, which is made from repurposed plastic bottles or other post-consumer materials.
plastic
If I am correct, polar fleece is in one sense environmentally friendly because, though it is made from petroleum can be made from old plastic bottles, also made from petroleum, which is a form of recycling. I'm guessing this is because it is reducing the amount of wasted plastic bottles while also minimising the 'new' petroleum use to normally make polar fleece. But most of this is a guess because I just read that plastic bottles can be used to make polar fleece on Wikipedia and the rest is an assumption so believe a 13 year old if you wish.
