I know focalin would not work because it has to stay in your system for a little while to see the good effects (side effects are usually present immediately). I have high metabolism and adderall IR and strattera didn't work for me either.

Depending on the dosage of each, you will most likely see an increase in heart rate, dizziness when titrating/changing dosages, mild insomnia, and a loss in sexual performance for males (most females have shown an increase in libido with strattera). The focalin will also create a little bit of restlessness and anxiety. Do not forget that it is also a diuretic and combining it with strattera will make you a flatulent Freddy at times. Also look out for the expiration dates on both of those medications. Focalin is expensive for a lot of mom and pop pharmacies, so they may accidentally give you an expired batch (happened to me, twice). Also be sure to eat a diet high in protein (both meds are highly protein bound!)

I just started with it. The Strattera help me a little, so far. My condition was almost of incapacity must of the time. And now i can manage, at least, my personal needs.

The reason why some autistic people with Aspergers don't like to be called as 'little professors' is because, they may think when they are called that, it may make them feel quite nerdy and a outcast to other people. It is true that people with aspergers are above average intellect, not all of them are to be classed as 'nerds' or 'little professors' as some people with aspergers are not got at academic subjects such as maths or computing but they can be good at things like playing musical instruments. To sum it up in general, the reason why people with aspergers don't like to be called 'little professors' is that it's not generally always true and it makes them feel like an outcast to others.

hi heather, I'm not sure what you mean? Strattera has very little effect on the appetite. So if you want to gain weight just eat lots of fattening foods. That will do it.
Does focalin interact with antibiotics?
According to the drugs.com interactions checker, ADD medicines generally dont interact with antibiotics. I just got on an antibiotic for an ear infection today and need to take some focalin to prepare for a test tomorrow. I guess im going to take the chance, but im a little scared because ive never been on antibiotics before and ive always been very sensitive to focalin.

about two weeks ago I accidentilly took my little brother's focalin. I took two at once, it was like 100 mg or something. I was extremely naseous, I had no desire to eat (I love to eat!), I felt slow...I was like a depressed little turtle, and I felt mentally different, as if something was controlling me. I didn't know I had taken the wrong medication until I realized these were all side effects of focalin, which was right next to my asthma medicine in the cupboard. This only lasted a day, but never intentionally take this, or anything that was not prescribed to you...it's not fun at all, learn from my mistake!

Emotions manifest in certain ways in persons with Aspergers, and in slightly different ways with non-Aspergers. So sometimes two people both with Aspergers get along well, because they understand eachother, and can read each other's emotions better. Sometimes neurotypicals (that is, people without Aspergers) don't propperly read the emotions of someone with Aspergers, and vice versa. So there can be challenges in a neurotypical/Aspie relationship, but that relationship is not doomed. You just have to both learn to understand each other, which is perfectly possible if you both want to.The important thing to remember, is that each person with Aspergers is a unique individual with an individual personality, just like each person without Aspergers.I have Aspergers. My closest friend does also. We have a lot of affection for each other. Sadly, not everyone else understands me. But he does. Does Strattera help with OCD symptoms?
I'm not sure, but I've used Strattera for some months. I've OCD myself, and Strattera hasn't helped me with this problem. But neither have medications like Lexapro, Efexor or Zoloft. The only stuff I find helpful is bezos like Aprazolam or Diazepam. They just make me a little less conserned about things that i usely worry about. But in the end of the day, they're quite addictive. So you should be careful using them Sorry for my bed English.

I have had dysthimia (I think that is the right spelling) which is a difficult to treat, but not severe, depression. I have been on Strattera for 10 days, and I feel that the depression is lifting some. But there are other side effects that make it debatable if it is worth it. Strattera was originally intended to be a new antidepressant drug, but in clinical trials, no benefits could be proven. Since Strattera works to inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine, the manufacturer ran trials on the effectiveness of Strattera for ADHD and was subsequently approved (Information is from Wikipedia), making Strattera the first non-stimulant ADHD medication on the market. If your doctor is giving you Strattera for depression, you might want to request a new drug, as that is basically an off-label use since Strattera is for ADHD and has been shown in clinical trials to NOT be effective for depression.
