The food colouring will gradually spread through the water because of diffusion.

Muddy water is a suspension because the particles in a suspension are small, not settled, and separate if left undisturbed like in the most common kind of suspension made of silt and water.
They would be a suspension, at least until they sink.
In a glass, usually the water is at the bottom and the oil on top, depends how you do it, but I did it once with the oil on top and the food colouring slowly went into the oil, depending on how thick the oil is on top, if it is thin, the drop of food colouring will drop through, if it is thick, it will take longer to go through or may not go through at all, so u would have to poke it through with something. Then it gets to the water and just spreads like it normally would in liquid. I made a lava lamp once. Adding water to a glass and a bit of oil on top. You add the food colouring and then add salt. It weights the oil down and then it rises back up. It so awesome. Hope that helps, if it does, please let me know onmy messageboard. Blondie94

Food colouring and water
No, you will find that food colouring mixes with water.
Food colouring does not affect how long it takes for water to boil. Both clear water and water with food colouring boil at the same speed with no real obvious differences in time.

No, food coloring is basically water.
they normally do. but when you have different type of colouring, then the results may differex). you have solid food colouring and liquid colouring, then they spread at different rates. the solid stays in a clump(but it still colours the water, but you do have to stir it if you don't want colour clumps in the water) while the liqid spreads out.
No definatly do not put food colouring in your hair it is called food colouring for a reason cause if you do the food colouring would go up your hair and on your scalp and you could get poisned if it got in your ear or eye but the best way to get it out is to simply wast it was hot water Losy40 xoxo
