No!! It is not a homogeneous region. The culture, the food, the dressing codes everything is different. How then can south east Asia be homogeneous??
Italian and French cuisines are considered by most to be the best foods. Obviously this is different in Asia and Africa where the cultures are entirely different.

Every region in Asia has their specific food choices and habits. For example.: People are eating with wooden sticks in East Asia, but in South Asia (India) people eat with their right hand. Or India has vegetarian cuisine, Japan's cuisine is based on fish and China is more omnivore. Also those countries have different tastes in food: Japanese food is very neutral in taste, China's food is more bittersweet, India's food is spicy mixes with others. Don't know about middle east. If you have any question's ask. Hope that was helpful.
