I can't tell you an exact answer to that, however, I've seen that it can be common in certain breeds (I think they were Appaloosa, Belgian, Paints and another), which might relate to genetics or maybe just the colouration, which is also down to genetics. I don't know whether, if the parents had it the offspring will though.

i think it is a scientist who studies the genetics of horses
Do you related to rock? No seahorses are fish, horses are mammals
Horses are related to one-hoofed mammals
it all depends on color genetics
Horses related to the Andalusian include Arabians, Lusitanos and Lipizzaners. These horses are classified as the world's most ancient beautifuls.
Zebras are accually related to horses, not cats. Even though the zebra has brown/black stripes and is white like a white tiger, zebras are still related to horses, not cats.
Go to the horse's page, click on "genetics", and the stars are listed there
Hippos are not related to horses at all. They are actually more closely related to whales and dolphins. There are three species of hippos.
White does exist due to how the genetics work. Most people call really light grey horses Whites, but these are not true white horses.
