The stereotype is that Goths are cannibals, neo-nazis, satanist, pedophiles, self-mutilators, etc. But that is not (usually) true. Goth is about finding the beauty in darkness...which is something all people should try to do. And if you are doing this, you are seeing the truth and are accepting others for who thy are...which I'm sure God, or whoever you worship, will be proud of you for. There is actually a group called "Christian Goths". Goths are no different from any one else. They are normal human beings with feelings...just smarter and with better fashion sense. But if you do the stuff in the third sentence (starting with cannibals), then yeah, that is probably sinful...but then again that stuff's not goth...that's why is called cannibalism, neo-naziism, satanism, and pedophilia...and not just shoved under a category called "gothism". So no, goth is not a sin.

∙ 12y agoCatholicism differentiates between sins and occasions for sin. Dressing a certain way or listening to certain music is not necessarily a sin. However, it may be an occasion for sin, if the music or clothing leads one to have bad thoughts, or do bad things. It is always important to dress modestly and not expose oneself to bad influences.
