Hardcore Metal isn't a genre. Hardcore Punk is derived from Punk Rock, and has been influential in the developmental progression of Metal. Goth Rock and Goth Metal are not the same. Gothic Rock is derived from the Post-Punk movement, Goth Metal.. really, it's more a theme than a genre. Neither one is the same as Hardcore.
I wanna know the same thing. :O
It is actually the same in English as it is in French. Goth in French is Goth.
That all depends on personal choice as goth metal bands can sound incredibly different due to the nature of the genre. However, I highly suggest you look up/listen to the following bands for some very good goth metal songs (the ones with a * being my personal favorites out of the list):Paradise LostAnathema*Theatre of Tragedy (huge band in the development of 'beauty and beast' vocals in goth metal)Type O Negative (mix of goth and doom)Cradle of Filth (mix of goth and black)Entwine*The 69 Eyes (their later/newer stuff. old stuff is glam/hair metal)Lacuna CoilTiamat*To/Die/ForDeathstars* (a fusion of gothic metal with Euro-Industrial metal)Some of those bands will sound very different to each other like they shouldn't be in the same genre, but the reason they will sound like that is because gothic metal has quite a wide range of vocal styles and therefore melody/music styles as well. What makes a band gothic metal is more to do with the lyrics than how they sound. My favourite goth metal song is Love never dies (by Angelika & Demons)
Marilyn Manson isn't really a goth. You could consider his makeup and dress style goth but then you would have to call Alice Cooper and KISS goth. But if you want ti be the same type of goth this is what you do, 1 dress in a way that you find shocking yet cool to your own style 2 Be yourself. Manson is 41 years old he has been a "goth" since before there were really "goths" as we know them.
the same way as getting scrap metal do dr.voltabolt's challenge
Hardcore band is somewhere along the lines of screamo with heavy instuments, Metal is just the main genre with craploads of sub genres such as Power Metal, Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Symphonic Metal, Black Metal and many more. Each sub genre has its own distinct sound but at the same time maintain the title "Metal".
gilded metal jacket (GMJ) is basically the same as full metal jacket (FMJ) in that it provides a metal casing on a bullet core. The difference in the two metal jackets is the method of application. The full metal jacket (FMJ) is a casing that is applied to the core while the gilded metal jacket (GMJ) is plated directly on the core. For all intents and purposes, the GMJ rounds perform the same as FMJ rounds, but are less costly to manufacture, and therefore cost less to buy.
The New Wave of British Heavy Metal - Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Motörhead - and punk rock were developing around the same time. Post-hardcore wouldn't be invented until the mid-1980s.
Heavy Metal was originally coming from Rock. Because Rock isn't that hard like Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal was invented, it shows the difference between both music genres. Heavy Metal must have hard beats as same as country music needs accustic guitars and heartbroken lyrics. Same as techno needs infinite amounts of the same beats with few breaks, but the rythm is the same all the time in a loop.
Not necessarily. Enjoying the same music as goths doesn't automatically make you goth. Goth is more about embracing a certain aesthetic, mindset, and subculture that goes beyond just musical preferences.
Stryper will take credit for the first 'god metal' band but there is never a clear answer to these types of questions I remember Stryper in the 80's and they could scream as good as any contemporary metal band. Another band I never saw was called Petra from around the same time.
goth in Japanese would be spelt with katakana so its basicaly the same word as English but pronounced 'gosu'
