green is lighter than blue. and purple is darker than red or blue. when adding red and blue it makes purple. purple is a dark color because red and blue are polar to each other when it comes to primary colors, and yellow which is a relativity based color, it is neither like red or blue. when adding yellow to red it makes orange which is lighter, and when adding yellow to blue, it makes a lighter color as well because they aren't polar to each other. to make black, you need about 60% blue and 30% red 10% yellow i think. ( i used to paint). So no, green is definetly lighter than blue in the middle range. to find the correct shade, you have to contrast the whitest green from the blackest green( which basically looks white and black) do the same with blue and see for yourself. and if you cant' tell, get an adjustable motion sensor and tweak it to find out. or turn down the lights and see which is more visible, and that will be the lighter color. this is my own research. relative brings light, polar brings dark. for instance from darkest to lightest would be: purple blue red green orange yellow. then the rainbow is like this: violet blue green yellow orange red redishpurple. the rainbow's outside and inside are polar opposites working their way to the middle relative color yellow.
