You can use a no ammonia demi-permanent dye on your hair after a relaxer. I would recommend PM Shines by Paul Mitchell. It has no ammonia, is relaxer safe, and has soy protein.
A hair relaxer will most likely calm it down, by making it flatter. Not a great idea if you have beautiful hair. Most of them are for like 3 months permanent! BE AWARE! :C
