the TEDDY BEAR has had an impact on everybody's lives by curing our boredness and keeping us company when there was no one else there for us. More serious than that though if a child gets afraid in a fire because his mom gets hurt then the child will start crying and the mom gets much worse. Give them a teddy bear the child will get calmer and settle down, making the mom feel and do a lot better so she can live her life easier
When Teddy Roosevelt was president ( 1901-1909) the teddy bear was first made and named after him. His term in office also named another bear that we still have around today. That is Smoky the Bear. The story goes that a baby bear was found during a forest fire clinging to a tree and saved by the firemen. They took him to the Washington DC zoo and named him "Smoky." Roosevelt is also the president who started our national forest service and set aside the first lands for a national parks system. Thanks to Roosevelt we can have Teddy bears and enjoy the natural wonders of our nation.
