Hell is important if you believe in it and spend your life avoiding things that might dump you there. However as no one knows the rules for avoiding Hell to even if there is one then the efforts you make may be for nothing. Many people run their whole lives being as productive a member of society as they can or want to be with never a thought of Heaven or Hell.

∙ 7y agoHell need not exist for it to be important to Christianity. The fear of spending eternity in hell has been one of the key motivations for many people to follow a religion that might otherwise struggle to find supporters.
