I would say yes.
I am currently in college and in high school the kids were more mature and didn't try to pick on you as much. In middle school its mainly about being cooler than the other kid and making yourself popular. Yeah, in high school you wanna be popular but its not all about that. In high school your finally realizing that you have a whole life ahead of you and you kind of focus more on that.
One thing I will tell you tho.... If you wanna make friends, make yourself friendly.
