Hofner guitar and basses have been made in Germany and are crafted with quality and precision. Became popular when Paul McCartney started using the Violin shaped Bass Guitar in the early 1960's or much known as the "Beatle Bass".
Be advised that there are few lower priced models and the majority are in the upper price range.
Rest assured, you are buying experience from time tested instruments and quality standards from Germany.
The bottom line is, be satisfied with your purchase by reading as much information on specifications and try and test play before your purchase. Sound, Feel and looks are the biggest appeal to your purchase.
Good question. A bass will work with any bass amp. That's the only restriction, you have to use a bass amp. If you try a regular guitar amp you may over drive it too much and damage the speaker. Hope this helps.
It's hard to tell because Hofner changed this guitar pretty frequently so it depends what model of senator you have. Any way, It's a really great guitar. It depends in what condition the guitar is, but most of them sounds really good and also the neck is pretty comfortable so its easy to play. But usually vintage Hofners goes in a range of between $800/$900 up to about $3000 for the fancier Hofner Committee.
It's a matter of taste. Try one out and if you like the sound and playability, go for it. I play hard rock and I'm thinking of buying one. If you're thinking of buying a hollow body violin bass, also take a look at the Rogue VB100. It's a good low cost alternative.
Rogue makes a pretty cheap bass. But $100 for a brand new bass is tough to beat. Its certainly better than anything else in that price range. Check out some Bass-DVDs, they are a good help.
Depends on what brand it is.
check out the bass that the guy in disturbed uses by a brand called traben , through a cheap guitar cable and a microcube amp it blew me away with the heaviness of it.
There are many good, light bass guitars. Some good brands include Rees Guitars Lightweight F-Light Bass Guitar and the Yamaha RBX4 A2 Super-Light Electric Bass Guitar.
It is a solid bass. Nothing fancy but should be reliable. I just bought a used one and I am impressed with how solid it is built. There are gear snobs that will turn their noses up at the Crate brand, but play it well and they will quickly be put in their place.
I would recommend a fender jazz bass what a great bass it is
if you are abeginner and have a budget, a good bass guitar is the epiphone thunder bird which can go for around 300 dollars. if you are an intermediate to advanced, a good bass would be a fender jazz bass or precision bass which have a price range of 500 to 2500 dollars. Preference my favorite bass guitar tough is the Rickenbacker 4003 fireglo which go for about 2500-3000 dollars maybe more
if i were to suggest one good bass line. this is the one Money-pink Floyd
