There are many studies some suggest it is by choice but most actually say it is something that is decided through young childhood experiences or by chemicals in the brain so that side would be the natural side.

This will remain a controversial topic for years to come. I've worked with and known many gays and lesbians, and considering the pain and rejection that most have faced at some point in their lives, some of it ongoing, despite earnest attempts to change [through Exodus ministries, for example], why would anyone actually choose that pain as a lifestyle? It is clear to me that however it happens, homosexuality unfolds naturally for some people, and it's hard for the rest of society to justify telling them that they cannot be sexual people like everyone else on the planet.

No. There is, in some, a natural curiosity, as with most unnatural desires. Considered early in life, it evokes in some some very strong emotions. Most never get it. Some successfully repel the impulses generated. In others, the idea of the act can be intense, incisive, and provocative. For some, even if thought of it is repulsive, that revulsion alone can drive ones behavior toward that which they find repugnant. Constant exposure or reinforcement can make a child or young person feel as though it's perfectly natural. Or, despite sensing that it's against convention, they're drawn to it. They can even hate the impulse and find that that hatred might drive them to it. It's complex and often more easily defined as natural. To do otherwise may leave them feeling weak or wrong for reasons they cannot understand. In any event, the curiosity is natural. The desire is not really a choice in the end. But is actually a series of choices; each one reinforcing the decision of the one before it.
