The internet is a WAN. It "INTERconnects NETworks" over the widest area possible, the Earth.
Of course it's WAN.
LOCAL ACCESS NETWORK. meaning as opposed to Internet whereby every body can be connected.
The different types of network are Personal Area Network(PAN), Local Area Network (LAN), Campus Area Network(CAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Global Area Network (GAN).by Rhaine
First of all, WAN is an acronym for Wider Area Network. A good example of a WAN is the Internet. The basic components of a WAN would be routers, satellites, ISP mainframes, transmission media (Fiber Optics backbones, Power lines, network cables etc....i suppose satellites would also be classed as a transmission media). The most essential of an WAN Component can be Modems / Routers / Router abd Firewalls.
Size and scope. A LAN is a Local Area Network, and is usually confined to a single building. A MAN is a Metropolitan Area Network and would cover multiple buildings in a city area. A WAN is a Wide Area Network and can cover any size geographical area.
Your computer must be connected to the internet to view an HTML document that is located on a website. Whether that connection is through a local area network (LAN) or not. If you normally connect to the web via the LAN, then yes, you'll need to be connected to the LAN. If instead you run an adhoc network, use a direct connection to infrastructure (like a router) or a modem, then you need that connection to reach the web.
WAN. LAN is a short range connection, WAN is wide range.
LAN users get access to internet or can communicate with others LAN connected to WAN.
by man im assuming you mean a node/client. Lan is intranet wan is internet. on the lan the node has a ip that it talks to other nodes with, on wan your computer's ip talks to your modem which talks to the internet with the modems IP. Hope that helped.
LAN can be connected by routers . A router can be used to connect to LAN's .a LAN to a WAN and LAN to Internet.
The Internet links LANs and WANs together.
WAN is short for Wide Area Network. Here are some example sentences: "The Internet is an example of a WAN." "You can have a LAN without a WAN, but none of the computers on the local network will have Internet access"
No. The Internet spans the entire globe which therefore makes it a WAN, or Wide Area Network.
LAN is internal. IE, your computer, router, modem. WAN is external, such as your computer, a server on the internet, a corporate database. Not to be confused with WLAN, which is wireless LAN
LAN = Local Area Network (this is local, in your own computer network) WAN = Wide Area Network (this is wide, most of the time this means the internet)
absolutely wan. lan is used for a office or a building complex
An LAN card is a must if you wish to connect to a LAN but it is not required for WAN
WAN requires the same technology as LAN.
