Yes, it is based off of the last mangas bye Rumiko Takahashi. There are 26 episodes not yet dubbed in English. You can watch them in subbed versions on Hulu.com.

No, the series stopped at 26 episodes and ended the whole Inuyasha series.
Its about the gang trying to collect all the rest of the jewel shards and destroy Naraku, same plot as the older episodes.
