Why would the gauges quit working on buick after washing the engine?
You probably shorted something with the water, check your fuses, replace any that are "blown". If the fuse "blows" again then start disconnecting connectors on the engine and get "all" the water out and replace fuse again. Not a good idea to hose down an engine especially if it's hot. you get water on a "very hot" exhuast pipe and you may crack it. TommyTrouble

How do you replace the cruise control fuse on 1998 Ford Contour?
What would happen if you used a copper penny to replace a melted fuse?
Well, first off most cents are zinc now, but in any case using a coin to replace a fuse is a very bad idea. A fuse is designed to be the weak link in an electrical system. It's intended to fail before any other part of the system does, so that expensive things like stoves, TVs, and inside-the-wall wiring don't fail in the event of a serious electrical problem. And even more important, a failure of one of those items could cause a fire! Bottom line, keep some spare fuses on hand, or if possible have a licensed electrician replace the fuses with circuit breakers. They're special switches that open up during a over current fault or overload so they protect the system just like a fuse, but they can simply be reset after the cause of the overload has been fixed.

Where can you find a fuse box diagram for a Toyota Tacoma?
Typically in the owners manual. Late models have it right under the lid of the fuse box. hey my fuse panel fell off last winter out shopping and i have no idea which one is the fuse for the running lights. a picture of the panel would be very helpful It should be right on the plate that covers the fuses.
While switching my alternator i forgot to unplug the battery terminal which caused a spark Now my car wont start or even crank?

How do you replace a fuse on the Toyota Corolla?
Depend on which one you want to replace, and why need to replace? It blew out...? Usually it last almost for ever or the life of the car. But if any one blew out, it must be a broken wire that use that fuse. Any way just pull out the one need to be replace and plug in the new one at the same rate to place. If it blow out again; it has a broken wire that touch ground. So it's good idea to check its wire before replace new fuse.

Toyota gt four alternator wont charge battery?
Check fuses first. If fuses are good, check the voltage from the negative battery cable to where the wire bolts onto the back of the alternator. (With the engine running). If you can't reach the back of the alternator, then measure across the posts of the battery. Voltage should be about 14 volts DC. If lower than that, replace the alternator. When you replace an alternator, it's a good idea to replace the battery, as a precaution.
How do you find the fuse for the windshield wipers?
It is usually under roadside emergency section. Answer First of all let us assume that you wish to find the fuse because the fuse has blown! A good place to start is the owner's manual, this very often has a picture/diagram of the fuse box indicating which fuses are which. If this is missing, or it does not contain the relevant information then the next step is to remove the fuse box cover, sometimes this will have an indication of what each fuse does. If there is no information on the fuse box cover, have a good look around the actual fuses, sometimes the information can be here. Failing that, have a look in the area around the fuse box, there may be some information on a sticker. If there is no information available from any source, you may be able to do a visual inspection. There are several different types of fuses, the old fashion type, which is basically a tube of glass with a piece of wire running through it, you can usually see if one of these is blown, the wire will be missing, or have a section missing from it. Sometimes the glass looks cloudy. A modern alternative is a plastic blade fuse, sometimes the wire element is encased within the plastic, sometimes it is exposed. The same for this, inspect it to see if the wire is continuous or broken. If you cannot perform a visual inspection for some reason, then you will need to follow a process of elimination to identify which fuse is which. To do this, switch on all of the electrical items for the vehicle and remove fuses in turn, it is a good idea to make a little drawing to identify the fuse position and what it does. Whilst you have the fuse removed, you may be able to perform a visual inspection (see above). Please note that some types of radios will need resetting if you interrupt the power supply by removing the fuse. Make sure you have the necessary information available to reset the radio. If you have an ultra modern car, it may have a computer, an alarm or other sophisticated electronic equipment. I would strongly advise you to get an owner's manual and read that before disconnecting any power supplies (removing fuses). It is very important that you replace the fuse you have removed back in the exact same socket that you removed it from. I point this out because some fuse boxes have empty positions, and it is very easy to incorrectly place your fuse back in one of those. If you place the wrong value fuse in the wrong position, then you could inadvertently damage your electrical system. A fuse is designed to blow if the electrical system draws too much current for some reason. If you were to replace a 10 Amp fuse with a 20 Amp fuse or any other higher value then in some circumstances your electrical system could catch fire. If this happened, any insurance or warranty on your vehicle would most likely be void, meaning that your losses could be considerable. Let alone the possibility of causing injury or death. Once you have identified the blown fuse replace it with one of the correct value. If you are continually having problems with a fuse blowing, then it may be that the wrong fuse has been introduced at some stage. If you suspect this, check the information (if available) otherwise you may try contacting the manufacturer to find out what the correct value fuse should be. Answer It may not be a fuse. After trying the fuse, if the wipers are still not working, check out the relay, the switch.. it could even be the windshield motor. This is not a lot of fun to replace.. but it can be done.

Will changing the fuses in my 2006 Jetta fix the electronic problems in my door?
If you have a blown fuse it may help but if the fuse blows again something else is wrong causing the fuse to blow. I don't know what type of problems you are having so I can't be of much more help. A good mechanic can probably give you a pretty good idea and an estimate about what it will cost to repair it.

Need To replace the fuse for your qualcomm in your 2009 freightliner Columbia and am miles away from a terminal anyone have an idea where it is located?
As an aftermarket accessory installed by persons who are not part of Freightliner, it could be anywhere. Your company probably installed it. Now, with any fuse panel, there'll be unoccupied spaces in it, which are typically marked as "ACC" or "Accessory" on the fuse panel diagram. It's probably in one of those. The best thing for you to do is to call your terminal and explain the situation to them. The problem may not even be the fuse - it could be a short in the system, for example.
Where is the fuse box located on a 2004 suzuki vitara?
The fuse box for 2004 Suzuki Vitara is located on drivers side just above and to the left of the brake peddle. You have to get on your back on the floor to see it. It houses the fuses for cigarette lighter, radio, tail lights and dash lights as well as others. They are labeled. Second fuse box is in engine compartment on passenger side...no idea what they control.
Can you use 250V 3.15A fuse to replace a 250V 3A fuse?
It's best if you just make a policy of never replacing a fuse with anything larger. Engineers have calculated the maximum SAFE circuit draw on an electronic device, and you should not use a fuse that will not provide adequate protection to the circuit. It sounds like .15 amp difference shouldn't cause trouble, but it's not a good idea.
Can you replace an T500 mA ceramic fuse with a F500 mA ceramic fuse?
What is the difference between a 3 amp fuse and a 13 amp fuse?
The difference between fuses is the current that they are designed to support. A fuse is intended as a safety measure to protect against overload. A 3 amp fuse should burn out if more than 3 amps is run through it, with some allowance for standard variance. A 13 amp fuse would burn out with greater than 13 amps. It is always a bad idea to use a fuse bigger than you need, because if your component is designed for a 3 amp fuse and you use a 13 amp fuse, there is a good chance you could damage your component with too much amperage because the fuse would not burn out at 3 amps, as was intended.
