There are a few possible reasons. * There may be air in the system and you need to crank for a while to purge it or try priming it with starting fluid. You may have pulled in just at the time when the pump started sucking air. * Fuel pump may be burned out if it ran without fuel. The fuel in the tank acts as both coolant and a lubricant for the pump. Listen for the whirring noise upon initial start up. * Fuel filter may be clogged from contaminants off the bottom of the tank being drawn into the system.

There is no age to get a filling. Teeth only need to be filled if they have a cavity. Not everyone will get a cavity. But pretty much anytime a tooth is filled, it will need to be numbed with an injection. A child should have their first check up by age 4, in my opinion. The suggested age is; I'v heard one and three. How many one year olds will sit in a dental chair for xrays and a cleaning...? So just get children in as soon as possible for check ups. Even if it's just to get them used to going.
