No. Rock Band 2 is more user friendly with better game play options and you can download all but 3 songs from rock band 1 to your hard drive to play in Rock Band 2 for around $5. (You will have to rent or borrow Rock band 1 disk to do this....but it doesn't take long and you must have a live account and access on the 360. I can only speak to this system.....not sure for other gaming systems.

From there, select the songs you want (all by default) and your good to go~!
