Is it a problem to have filled-up with gas with the petcock on reserve then immediately switched over to on?

No, should not matter unless you have a bad carb that is pron to leaking. There would be a very small increace in presure to carbs with a full tank and set on reserve, but probley not enought to make a diff. Tell me what happened? if any thing? Ben Parker, San Jose, Ca.

Why wont the radiator petcock in a 1999 Yukon go back in?
I just ran into this problem. The petcock is plastic and has a metal pin protruding thru the side. This pin rides in a "track" and locks the petcock into place when you put it back in. I broke the pin removing the petcock and had to remove the radiator to repair it. You may be able to do this with the radiator in place. See if you can feel the track and if you replace the pin, you will feel it lock into place when you reinstall the petcock. The pin can only protrude on one side of the petcock so that the petcock will seat correctly. Good luck.

I'm assuming you mean the drain valve. It would be at the bottom on either the right or left side, side facing the engine. Might look like a wing nut. New answer: -- If it is like my 1990, it is behind the grille. No problem - the grille comes off with some screws from the front and the petcock is near the right headlight.
